Vignaioli Scansano

Cantina Cooperativa Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano was founded in 1972 and today brings together 160 winegrowers.
The estate is located in the Tuscan Maremma, on rolling hills descending from Scansano towards the Tyrrhenian Sea.
This wine region lies between the Ombrone and Albegna rivers, which play an important role in shaping the climate and terroir.
The cooperative also owns vineyards further inland, around the historic village of Pitigliano.
These plots form the basis for the characterful white wine Bianco di Pitigliano.
In total, the vineyards cover an area of approximately 600 hectares.
Altitude varies significantly, with vineyards situated between 150 and 300 metres above sea level.
Soils differ by location and consist of sandy and silty grounds, with clay and tuff soils around Pitigliano.
